Muturajawella Marsh land is a protected area of wetlands in the district of Negombo that was declared a National Park in a sign of protection of flora and fauna of this vast biodiversity. Muthurajawela is translated as the Royal Marsh.
The Marsh is a local and tourist attraction. To avoid serious damage to the ecosystem of the swamp, excursions and trips by boat are accompanied by the staff of the Centre at a National Park Muthurajawela.
