On the route to the “Cultural Triangle of Sri Lanka” in Central province Matale is another attraction included in the list of UNESCO World heritage since 1991. This is Dambulla the Cave temple or the Golden Buddha Temple.
The temple is situated at an altitude of 100-150 meters on the mountain. The ascent is not very difficult. Accompany the pack of monkeys, so be careful – look your property. And on top you will have amazing panoramic views and an ancient monastery tucked inside the cliff. It consists of five rooms that contain numerous Buddha statues.
